Why is it Called “Lucardo?”

Answering Your Top Questions About Lucardo Escape Rooms

Here at Lucardo, we find our guests asking a lot of the same questions.

“What happens if we don’t finish the game?”

“If I just push the door and walk out, does that mean I’ve ‘won’?”

“Do you folks really just sit back here watching and laughing at us all day?”

We’ll tackle some of those queries in a future blog post, but for now, we’re going to be answering one of the most frequently asked questions we hear at Lucardo.

“Why is it called ‘Lucardo’”?

Well, that is the question. You could say that the name of the company is it’s biggest - and most challenging - puzzle. Guests far and wide have tried to seek out the answer assuming that, should they crack this highly-secretive code, they’ll be awarded the honour of being Lucardo’s most-coveted player.

People have tried running ‘lucardo’ through translators, through ciphers, and even tried reading it backwards through a mirror. Our biggest fans even tried pointing a wand at it, and shouting “Revealus”! Their efforts were futile, as the answer still did not appear.

Was the name whispered to our manager by fairies in his sleep? Did dragons breathe fire down on our building, etching the walls with scorch marks that spelled out those now-infamous letters? Or was it presented to us, on a scroll in a golden, velvet-lined box, by a princess from a faraway land?

No. None of that is true. Sorry.

In truth, Lucardo is actually the name of a teeny, tiny hamlet village that lies in the municipality of Montespertoli, in Tuscany, Italy. It’s unique, it’s enticing, and we love the originality of it.

Or, at least, that’s what we tell you. Whether or not you choose to believe this is the real reason why we’re called Lucardo… well. That’s up to you…
