Wheelchair and disability friendly escape rooms in Manchester

Frustrated because you can’t find a wheelchair accessible escape room in Manchester?

The escape rooms at Lucardo Manchester are specifically built with wheelchair users and disabled users in mind. We have built some of the only disability friendly escape rooms in the UK!

What is the escape room experience like at Lucardo for a disabled user or wheelchair user?

As we wanted to provide an inclusive experience, we started thinking about accessibility for wheelchair users and disabled users on day one of the construction stage. All of our door frames are extra wide, allowing for almost all types of wheelchairs. We have a custom built wheelchair ramp which our team member will set up to allow for safe access in to and out of the building. You can get a lift directly to our floor and then, will be greeted in reception ready for your escape room briefing!

Many escape rooms don’t allow for wheelchair users, we are really pleased to say that all of our games at our Manchester city centre branch can be accessed by wheel chair users*. **

Reception has plenty of space allowing for up to five wheelchair users at once and we have wheel chair accessible toilets to use either prior, during or after your game.

The five games you will be able to play are:

Virginia House – Murder Mystery – Solve the crime scene and find out who the killer is before the killer strikes again.

University of Magic – Don your magical gown, cast spells, recite incantations and pass your entrance exam into the University of Magic.

The Prison – Our brand new game for 2019 - will you escape from a maximum security prison without getting caught?

Gem Runner – Ever fancied heisting a bank? Will you pull off Manchester’s biggest robbery?

Espionage - Can you prevent a world war from starting? Travel back in time to 1939 and head deep behind enemy lines and save the world?

Do you require a carer? As long as you book a minimum of a 2 player game, we allow one carer per game to visit for free to assist you in getting the maximum experience at Lucardo.

Do you have any more questions? – email [email protected] and we will be happy to answer any questions you have.

*Approximately 90% of “The Prison” can be played by a wheelchair user; a small element of the game requires a player to crawl. This part can be easily worked around by the team member allowing for a complete game experience. We would always recommend a person without disability to play alongside a wheelchair user.

** We recommend a maximum of two wheelchair users per game to play at once and for each team to have a person without disability in each team.
