Madrid Day 2

Madrid Escape Room Trip – Day 2: Three Venues, Six Adventures and Plenty of Puzzles!

After an action-packed first day of escape rooms in Madrid, we're back for Day 2, and we've certainly got our work cut out for us! Today promises to be another fantastic adventure as we visit four different escape room venues and take on six games.

We've got a brilliant mixture of horror, comedy, prison breaks, Wild West adventures, heists and mystery on the agenda. We've done a little research into what other players have been saying on Google, Tripadvisor and the escape room review community, so here's what we're expecting.

Stop 1 – Bite the Fly: Bites Motel and TAO

Bites Motel — Escape Room de Terror y Suspense en Madrid | Bite The FlyOriginal Bachelorette Party in Madrid: 10 Ideas Beyond the Club [2026] | Bite The Fly¿Qué es un Escape Room? Guía Completa [2026] | Bite The Fly

We're starting the day with two very different experiences at Bite the Fly, a venue that looks to have something special to offer.

Bites Motel – A little bit of Psycho!

First up is Bites Motel, an experience inspired by the atmosphere of the classic film Psycho. Expect to check into a rather unusual roadside motel, where things may not be quite as welcoming as they first appear!

The reviews are particularly encouraging. Bite the Fly has an impressive 5/5 Google rating and 4.9/5 on Tripadvisor in the review breakdown available through WhereToEscape. The room has also picked up recognition in the international escape room community.

Players particularly praise:

  • Incredible cinematic sets and attention to detail.

  • Excellent acting and immersive storytelling.

  • Original puzzles requiring communication and teamwork.

  • A good mixture of tension, surprises and humour.

At around 100 minutes, this is a longer experience than the average escape room, so we're expecting a proper adventure rather than simply solving a few padlocks.

TAO – Time to relax? Think again!

Next, we're heading to TAO, which takes us into a Japanese-inspired massage parlour. Apparently, this isn't going to be your ordinary relaxing spa visit!

The premise promises a quirky, comedic experience, with Matsumoto welcoming us into the world of the TAO family and their secrets.

Escape room reviewers describe TAO as a fun, unusual experience, with the comedy theme providing a refreshing contrast to the darker Bites Motel.

Our expectations: Two very different games, one venue, and hopefully plenty of laughs alongside a few scares. Bite the Fly looks like a particularly strong start to the day.

Stop 2 – Fox in a Box: Prison Break, Golden Nugget Saloon and Mastermind

Cadena Perpetua: el escape room viral de Fox in a Box Madrid,…Fox in a Box Madrid: uno de los planes imprescindibles que hacer…Fox in a Box Madrid: escape rooms increíbles, video y cajas regalo

Three games at one venue! Fox in a Box is going to keep us busy, and we're looking forward to seeing how the different themes compare.

Google feedback for the Madrid venue is very positive, with reviews highlighting clever puzzles, interactive props and enthusiastic game masters. Players also comment on how challenging the puzzles can be without becoming frustrating.

Prison Break – Can we escape?

The classic prison escape scenario. We'll need to work together, find clues and hopefully avoid spending the rest of the day behind bars!

The Fox in a Box prison-themed games are designed around teamwork, problem-solving and time pressure, with the venue describing its challenges as difficult but achievable.

Golden Nugget Saloon – Welcome to the Wild West!

Fox in a Box Madrid: uno de los planes imprescindibles que hacer…

This one sounds like great fun. We're heading back to the Wild West, where outlaws are causing trouble in a small town and the local authorities need our help.

Our mission? Rescue the kidnapped Golden Chicken and restore justice to the town!

The venue rates this game 4/5 for difficulty and recommends comfortable clothing and shoes. It is designed as an immersive spaghetti-western adventure, with a 75-minute playing time.

Mastermind – The Heist

Fox In A Box: Mastermind | EscapeUp

Finally, it's time for a daring robbery. Mastermind puts us in the role of criminals attempting to break into a high-security vault and steal the British Crown Jewels.

This is all about planning, strategy, communication and keeping our cool under pressure. Interestingly, Fox in a Box explains that Mastermind is a mission-based challenge rather than a conventional locked-door escape room.

Our expectations: Three very different adventures, with plenty of variety. We're particularly interested to see how the heist format compares with the traditional prison escape and Wild West games.

Stop 3 – La Cronosfera Agencia del Tiempo: The Disappearance of the Professor

La desaparición del profesor – La cronosfera – Sweet Escape

Our final stop takes us into the world of time travel, mystery and scientific investigation.

The Disappearance of the Professor

The story centres around Professor Maimónides, an important agent who has mysteriously disappeared from the timeline. We'll be recruited as agents of the Chronosphere and sent back to 20 October 1920 to investigate his disappearance.

This sounds like a great change of pace after the earlier games.

The reviews are particularly promising. On EscapeRoomLover, the game has 81 player opinions, with reviewers praising its elaborate decoration, clever puzzles and excellent game masters. One recurring theme is that the experience keeps everyone busy throughout.

Other highlights include:

  • Original puzzles cleverly integrated into the storyline.

  • A non-linear structure, meaning plenty of challenges to tackle.

  • Some impressive surprise moments.

  • A well-integrated hint system.

  • A difficulty setting that can be adjusted to suit the group.

The room lasts around 60 minutes and has received recognition in the TERPECA escape room awards, including nominations in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Our expectations: A clever, story-driven finale that will hopefully test our problem-solving skills and bring the day's adventures to a memorable conclusion.

The Day 2 verdict – Before we've even started!

Six games, four venues and a huge variety of experiences. If the reviews are anything to go by, we're in for a fantastic day.
