A Fun Hunt Through All the "Easter Eggs" Hidden Throughout Lucardo!

Happy Easter everyone, from all of us at Lucardo Rawtenstall! Whether or not you celebrate, we hope you’ve had a lovely holiday season in the sunshine.

To stay on-theme for today’s blog, I thought it’d be fun to discuss some of my favorite “Easter Eggs” hidden throughout our five escape games. This gives a great, behind-the-scenes look into what goes into the creation of our games, including nods to game hosts, linking storylines, and more!

If you’ve not heard the term used like this before, an “Easter Egg” is a hidden message, object, or feature, like a kind of “insider-only” joke for hiders and in-the-know finders to appreciate.  There’s probably more of these hidden throughout Lucardo than you might think, so keep reading to uncover some of our favourite ones…

Note: I’ve taken extra care to make sure I’ve not hidden any spoilers for our games in this blog. Only safe, spoiler-free Easter Eggs are to be found here!

The Gem Runner Easter Eggs

If you visited Lucardo prior to 2021, you may remember Gem Runner.

This bank heist-themed escape game was the very first to open at the Rawtenstall site and, although the space has been long-since replaced by Treason, the game still lives on inside our hearts, our minds… and a few Easter Eggs scattered about the place. In fact, anything bank-related you see in our rooms, it’ll likely be a nod to Gem Runner! So, next time you’re playing Safe House, be sure to check that evidence nice and closely.

The Crime Line Easter Eggs

Staying in Safe House, did you know that there are so many links between this game and Corruption?

Although each game may be played independently, their storylines actually match up. One features a witness being interrogated over a heinous crime gang, while the other involves a clean-up of that same gang’s hideout. So, as the games progress, players of each will learn more about Tommy Neil, Turkish Tony, and PC Conroy, as well as finding out how each of these characters are embroiled in the heart-racing investigation. There are plenty of plots, places, and props that match between rooms too, which means that teams who have played both games will especially be able to enjoy and explore this unique “Easter Egg Hunt”!

The Magical Easter Eggs

A few weeks ago, I wrote a blog post all about the two fabulous University of Magic games at Lucardo – one here in Rawtenstall, and one over in Manchester. While both these games are different, they actually contain plenty of fun “Easter Eggs” that link them together!

From the names of the founding witches and wizards, to the spells, potions and ingredients used, you’re bound to find some nice nods to each of the University of Magic’s “campuses.” You can read more in my article here, or get yourself booked in to the games to “unlock them magic” for yourself!

The Game Host Easter Eggs

The last “Easter Egg” I’ll share is an especially nice one, that always makes me smile whenever I spot it.

Throughout our games, there are always a handful of props and puzzles in that feature character names. A lot of the times, these names are actually hidden “Easter Eggs”, belonging to Lucardo colleagues old and new! So, next time you’re playing Claus for Concern for instance, keep your eyes peeled. You might just find the name of your Game Host hidden somewhere unexpected!

Aren't these finds cool? That's all I'll share with you today, but I hope you’ve enjoyed taking this sneaky look deeper into our rooms at Lucardo Rawtenstall. Plus, I hope it’s encouraged you to look even deeper when you next play with us. Who knows, you may even find some hidden clues that even I haven’t uncovered yet...

To make a booking, be sure to head to our website, or phone us on 01706 551 600 for more information. As always, we look forward to “locking you up” soon!
