Plan an Escape Room Road Trip This Summer!

For many enthusiasts, a summer escape room road trip will sound like the most fun ever! A nice UK staycation somewhere fun, with the chance to tick some of your must-do escape rooms off your list. Sounds perfect, right?

Well, this is your sign to stop dreaming and get that trip booked! It’s summertime, there’s some fantastic rooms out there waiting to be played, and there’s never been a better time to go. Keep reading, and we’ll share our best tips on how to make this summer the most puzzling one yet!

Planning is Key

First off, do your research. Maybe pick out a couple of escape rooms, or even companies, which you’re hoping to try. See if there’s any more nearby, and come up with a nice route that will enable you to hit them all. Then, try coming up with a destination overlook for you to work towards, taking into account any other local attractions or landmarks you don’t want to miss.

Plan a route that’s manageable and comfortable (as well as fun!), and that’s the hard work out of the way!

Keep Budget in Mind

It’s true that escape rooms can be expensive, so be sure to plan out a budget if that’s important to you. Remember to factor in petrol or other travel costs, as well as food, accommodation, parking, other activities, etc.  In terms of money, there’s nothing stopping you reaching out to companies to politely see if they’ll offer you a discount for booking multiple rooms at once. It’s never guaranteed, but there’s no harm in asking.

Ask the Experts

We’d also recommend reaching out to any escape room companies you’re planning on playing with and see if they have any advice or tips for your trip. Whether that be recommendations of hotels, restaurants, or even other nearby games and activities to try, they know the area best and will no doubt be more than happy to pass on their knowledge.

Be Spontaneous

Perhaps our best tip would be to make sure you schedule down-time and breaks in-between the rooms. After all, even the most accomplished of enthusiasts can get scrambled sometimes! Solving escape rooms can take a lot of mental – and even sometimes physical – energy, so be sure to schedule some quieter activities in-between. Plus, taking breaks in-between games gives you the chance to discuss and digest those incredible puzzles!

Another good tip we’d suggest is to keep space free during the day, simply because anything could happen. You might discover another room you hadn’t planned on doing, or a fun new activity en-route that you don’t want to miss. Allow some time for spontaneity, and you won’t regret it.
