1.      Explore the Science and Industry Museum

2.      Go Star Gazing

The UK is home to hundreds of Dark Sky Discovery Sites, that is, the best places to marvel at the stars and galaxies around us. Set in wide-open spaces away from the noise of big city lights, these untouched places have been determined the best spots for astronomers, photographers, and even just star-gazing space fans such as ourselves! After all, what better way could there be to appreciate the wonders of space, than by using your own two eyes?

From Manchester, the closed Dark Sky Sites include the Peak District to the south-east, and the Forest of Bowland to the north-west. 3.      Visit Jodrell Bank

Over in Macclesfield lies Jodrell Bank, an incredible working science research facility that’s open daily for all things science and space education. It’s a World Heritage Site like none other, home to an observatory, world-class radio telescopes (including the 76m high Lovell Telescope,) a discovery centre, classroom spaces, hands-on exhibits… and even a café for when you’re feeling peckish.
